Ingredients You’ll Need
Before we dive into the steps, here’s what you’ll need for this creamy, cheesy stuffed shells recipe:
Main Ingredients:
- 12 jumbo pasta shells, cooked and drained
- 1½ cups cooked chicken, diced or shredded (rotisserie chicken works great!)
- 1 cup steamed broccoli, chopped into small pieces
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1 can cream of chicken soup (10.5 oz)
- ½ cup milk
- Salt, pepper, and garlic powder, to taste
Step 1: Cook the Pasta
Boil your jumbo pasta shells in salted water according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside to cool slightly so they’re easier to handle.
You may want to cook a couple of extra shells in case any tear during stuffing.
Step 2: Make the Filling
In a large mixing bowl, combine:
- Cooked chicken
- Chopped broccoli
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- A pinch each of salt, pepper, and garlic powder
Mix everything until evenly combined. The mixture should be hearty but soft enough to scoop easily.
Step 3: Stuff the Shells
Carefully spoon the chicken and broccoli mixture into each cooked pasta shell. Place each stuffed shell into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 4: Prepare the Sauce
In a separate bowl, whisk together:
- 1 can of cream of chicken soup
- ½ cup of milk
Pour this creamy mixture evenly over the stuffed shells.
Step 5: Add More Cheese
Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of cheddar cheese over the top of the dish.
Step 6: Bake and Serve
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the dish is heated through.
Let it sit for 5 minutes before serving for best results!
