A simple, comforting dessert that’s easy to make and oh-so-delicious. Perfect for when you want a homemade treat with minimal effort!

1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup milk
1 (12 oz) can fruit pie filling (cherry, apple, peach, or your favorite)

Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the butter in an 8×8-inch casserole dish and let it melt in the oven while preheating.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together self-rising flour, sugar, and milk until smooth.

Remove the casserole dish with the melted butter from the oven. Pour the batter evenly over the butter—do not stir!

Spoon the fruit pie filling evenly over the batter. The filling will sink slightly as it bakes, creating delicious layers.

Place the dish back in the oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and cooked through.

Let the pie cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, either on its own or topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
